BEING ON FIRE AT THE CAMPUS

One of the places you can go and live a godless life if you are not assisted by God is a tertiary institution; they are too many pleasures in that place that can swindle you away in just one semester.
I have seen fire branded young people live like an unbeliever on campus; some are prayer coordinators, music ministers, ushers, etc. in their local assembly before going to school. But getting to school where mummy, daddy, and pastor are no more living with them they turn something else.
If you want to sustain your fire on campus apply the following
1. Take your fellowship with God serious: Once many people enter school they forget about God from the beginning and try to live like other people on campus. They place a high demand on getting a good grade and this drains their spiritual hunger. You do pray 4 am every day at home but the day you enter the school you stop so you won’t be called names like holy mary/pastor. If you neglect your fellowship with God you will live a Godless life on campus. A word of advice: do not stay in any hostel you won’t be able to pray especially at night.
2. Make your studies a priority: The main reason why you are in school is to study so make it a priority, don’t be praying when you are supposed to be reading, do not attend prayer meeting when you are supposed to be receiving lectures.
3. Choose your friends: One challenge of many students is having bad friends. Some friendship is masterminded by hell to trap students, you see the ugly characters formed in many after a few weeks. Watch out for these kinds of friends, don’t roll on campus with devil incarnate. Your friends can help you know God on campus or take you away from God, choose your friends wisely.
4. Be part of a fellowship: Join a good fellowship that can help you sustain your fire on campus; be part of a family that knows the way of the Lord.
5. Never disconnect from mentors: The moment some people enter school they disconnect from mentors, nobody can call or text them to ask if all is well so they turn something else. Don’t be too big not to have a base to fall on, cold days are ahead. Don’t disconnect from mentors they can easily call you to order when you want to start misbehaving in the campus.
6. Remember your background: This alone is enough reason why you should behave well in school and don’t forget whose son/daughter of you are—you are God’s beloved child. Also vow not to disappoint your family, refrain from joining any group that will destroy you or dents the name of your family. Just to feel among the big happening guys many have end in demise.
7. Don’t be ashamed to live for the truth: Truth and integrity should be your watchword every day. The times are evil, only the truth can save.

8. Avoid going out late at night: If you must go to a night class or the library, do well to move out early, avoid dark spot.

9. Consistently renew your mind: How can a young man cleanse his way? The bible says by taking heed of the word of God (see Psalms 119:9). Have a renewed mind with God (Romans 12:1 – 2), and think on only positive things. Paul in his farewell to Philippi said: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
Beloved, I pray you a successful school system. Let your fire for God continue to burn; do not let the pleasures of campus drain it.
